Phase One of the T.R.E.E.S. Project was about creating a plan and then turning it into reality by building a prototype demonstration site. Having accomplished that at a private home in South Central Los Angeles, we have now moved into Phase Two - organizing and working with stakeholders in the region to achieve wide-scale adoption of the technologies and ideas developed in the first phase. Some of the Next Steps include:
- Organizing a multi-agency/stakeholder board of advisors to move the implementation process forward. The Board will study financing options, building codes and barriers to implementation;
- Conducting public tours of the growing number of sustainable stormwater demonstration sites
- Identifying funding to design and build school, multi-family residential and industrial demonstration sites using the BMPs developed during the charrette. This process is already underway and updates on our projects can be found in the "Projects" section.
